About Fugen

Fugen Designs is inspired by Fugen Bosatsu the Japanese name for Samantabadra Bodhisattva in Sanskrit. Literally Fugen means "universally good". We see Fugen as the representation of compassionate action. Through compassionate action we can change sickness to health. We can transform poison to a tonifying elixir. The mantra associated with Fugen is “Om san maya sato ban” or “Om I am (we are) the embodiment of the pledge”. It is not enough to think about or theorize we must become compassion itself. To support this process Fugen Designs pledges to donate 5% of all profits to non-profit organizations that help children to explore the compassionate side of their nature.

The sound associated with Fugen is “OM” which in Japanese is pronounced “AN”. This sound contains a human expression of the universal. Many of the products offered by Fugen Designs are made in a state of prayer and peace. They are imbued with the power of this universal vibration. Fugen is involved in Japanese Buddhist ceremonies to help ensure a long and healthy life. We sincerely wish this for all people.
